Santa Mouse by Michael Brown is a classic holiday board book illustrated in a soft, timeless style by Elfrieda De Witt, featuring a sweet little gray mouse dressed up as Santa, complete with a fuzzy white beard and a wrapped gift tucked under his arm. The vintage charm of the artwork gives it the feel of a storybook that’s been passed down through generations.
The story follows a lonely, nameless mouse living in a big empty house who surprises Santa Claus with an unusual gift one Christmas Eve, and in turn becomes Santa’s own special helper. It’s a gentle tale about generosity and finding belonging, told in simple language that’s easy for little ones to follow along with.
As a sturdy board book, it holds up well to repeated bedtime readings and small hands turning the pages on their own. It’s a lovely addition to a family’s holiday book collection, especially for parents or grandparents looking to pass down a true Christmas classic.
