Some decor is made for looking, and some is made for touching.

This tray is the touching kind, layered with texture from edge to edge. A round rattan tray with a soft whitewashed weave holds a woven rope basket heaped with snow dusted red berries, pine sprigs, and pinecones. On one side stands a cream wool felt tree, stitched with wavy sage trim and finished with a wool ball on top and tiny ones dangling from the bottom. On the other, two gold bells dotted with star cutouts catch the light, one a little taller than the other. Up front, a pair of mini vintage books in green and cream makes a little stand for a Happy Little Tree candle.

Rough rattan, soft wool, and cool, smooth metal make a fun mix, so there's always something new to notice. The whole tray fills a 14 inch circle with color and texture, just right on a coffee table, a tufted ottoman, or the center of your dining table.

Styling tip: Start with the rope basket toward the back of the rattan tray, slightly left, and fan the berry pick so it rises well above the rim. Stand the wool tree along the left edge. At the front center, set down the cream book, lay the green book on top, and crown the stack with the candle. Put the medium bell at the back right beside the basket and the small bell just ahead of it. With the height in back and the candle low in front, every texture gets its moment.
